Service Detail - Griffith fought at Anzac Cove as a machine gunner and was wounded in the head on Oct 12th, 1915. He was treated on Anzac Cove and rejoined his battalion on Oct 20th from the field ambulance. Griffith left Anzac Cove on Dec 18, 1915. Griffith also fought in France from Aug 1916 and suffered through trench feet during his service. Griffith returned to Australia Jan 2nd, 1919 and was discharged on Apr 16 1919
Members thoughts / recollections - As he died when I was 5, I only remember tiny snippets of him. He lived across the road from my Grandfather (his son) and was 83 when he passed. I only remember him always being in a suit and being very tall although I have since found out that he was less than 6 foot tall (I suppose everyone is tall to a 5 year old).
